Urban Trust Bank, formerly known as Metro Bank commenced operations under the Urban Trust name in 2006. Following through the history of Urban Trust, Metro Bank was established as an Orlando based financial institution in 1963. By June 1990, Metro received permission from the Office of Thrift Supervision (OTS) to operate as a national bank. It was not until Robert L. Johnson acquired a 51% stake in Metro Bank from Worldwide Financial Services Inc. its parent company that Metro Bank changed its name to Urban Trust Bank. In line with its mission to rank high amongst financiers to urban community related projects, Urban Trust Bank has a range of products and services including savings and deposit facilities, credit card offers, mortgages, auto loan, home equity loan, consumer loans, business loans, and retirement offered to personal and business clients.
